Review and Demo of the New Belkin TuneTalk iPod Mic\Recorder

Filed under: Podcasts — Administrator @ 5:40 pm

[audio:http://media.libsyn.com/media/typicalmacuserpodcast/TMUP33_5-07-29-2006.mp3]
This is a special podcast where I do what must be one of the first “Real World” Demos of the Belkin TuneTalk, which is a iPod recorder that can be used to record high quality audio files directly via external mic or mini 3.5mm mic to an iPod.

I put the TuneTalk through it’s paces only 1 hour after purchasing it. I record with the External Mic, a Sony ECM-MS907, Giant Squid Lavaliere Mic, Shure SM58, a Heil PR40 all directly plugged in to the TuneTalk. Finally I record from my Mackie Onyx 1220 Board directly into the TuneTalk.

Decide for yourself and leave comments. Digg this story if you Digg it.

Did you ever have one of those days where your overlapping skills got you in trouble. Well today was one for me. As I released the show tonight I put in the tittle for this Saturday’s Typical PC User Podcast and called it “The One with Trucker Tom.”

Well if you listen to that show, on Saturday it will be the one with Trucker Tom. However this one should have been called Mac Tips , Revisit with Memory Miner and Text to speech

So. . . sorry for any confusion and keep listening. Your ever faithful and “human” podcaster.

Victor

My Unlikely Robert Scoble “On the Road” Moment

I was reading my RSS feed somewhere in Utah yesterday and ran across an entry from Robert Scoble Called “Hello From the Road”

In it Robert mentions using his EVDO card during his trip to his new job at Podtech. He also mentioned that people could call him while they were on the road and as always he provided his cell phone number.

Well I told Mary, I’m going to call Robert and share that I too have been using my EVDO card on the road. I dialed the phone and Robert picked up. I explained who I was ,and Robert told me he was on with a friend and would get back to me. Of course I said, and hung up.

Late last night (while in Mesquite, Nevada), I got a voice mail on my cell phone from Robert telling me he was getting back to me. It was about 11PM so I waited until today to call him. I called Robert again from Las Vegas and we had a nice conversation about my two podcasts, and about how cool EVDO is.

Best wishes to Robert as he starts his new job. What I can tell you is, that what makes Robert Scoble, “Robert Scoble” is being totally available to anyone who wants to communicate with him, even if they are a podcaster somewhere in Utah using EVDO.
