My Unlikely Robert Scoble “On the Road” Moment

I was reading my RSS feed somewhere in Utah yesterday and ran across an entry from Robert Scoble Called “Hello From the Road”

In it Robert mentions using his EVDO card during his trip to his new job at Podtech. He also mentioned that people could call him while they were on the road and as always he provided his cell phone number.

Well I told Mary, I’m going to call Robert and share that I too have been using my EVDO card on the road. I dialed the phone and Robert picked up. I explained who I was ,and Robert told me he was on with a friend and would get back to me. Of course I said, and hung up.

Late last night (while in Mesquite, Nevada), I got a voice mail on my cell phone from Robert telling me he was getting back to me. It was about 11PM so I waited until today to call him. I called Robert again from Las Vegas and we had a nice conversation about my two podcasts, and about how cool EVDO is.

Best wishes to Robert as he starts his new job. What I can tell you is, that what makes Robert Scoble, “Robert Scoble” is being totally available to anyone who wants to communicate with him, even if they are a podcaster somewhere in Utah using EVDO.
