DonQuixote, I totally agree with you. My post was more for fun than anything else. I think that I will be very happy with my new iMac (should be here Tuesday or Wed). I'm going to have a lot of fun with it and share it all with all of you, which is the true blessing of podcasting for me. Community.

First congrats on the brand new addition to the Cajiao family!!

Hindsight is always twenty twenty. Unfortunately, none of us have a crystal ball, time machine, or other means to accurately know what the future will hold. Therefore, all we can do is make a decision based on the best analysis of the information that we have at the present time.

Which is exactly what you did.

Sure there are risks in moving forward without 100% information. However, there are also benefits that you will be reaping earlier given that you’ve made the decision and soon will be enjoying a brand new iMac with all the bells and whistles that it brings. How do I envy thee let me count thy ways!

As Satchel Paige said long ago "don't look back — something might be gaining on you.”

So don’t second guess yourself or question your decision. Enjoy the new arrival…

Congrat's on the 24" iMac!!! Got mine four months ago & have loved it ever since. There will ALWAYS be updates of macs, software, etc. I had waited for quite a while. I was hesitant to buy before all the changes with Leopard in the works but I didn't want to wait anymore. In the end, it's (1) about you (2) for you and (3) purchased and used by who - you! Plus, you're gonna buy the family pack anyway. Give yourself a break and sit back and enjoy all the MAC LOVE!!! Take care!

I thought about that but I have to buy the Leopard and iLife 07 family pack for our other 3 macs anyway, that's why I went ahead and bought now.

I think the biggest pause for purchasing a new Mac is that Leopard (and probably iLife '07) will be released soon. In other words, if you can save a few hundred dollars on updates by waiting for a month or so, why not?
