Parallels rocks on an iMac 24″ with two screens and lots of choices
Ok so I’m not easily impressed but now that I have my MacIntel I installed the new Parallels and I was expecting some goodness. However nothing could have prepared me for how sweet i would be.
The bottom picture shows my new iMac 24″ with an additional 19″ Samsung monitor. Vista business edition is running, Parallels is running in coherence mode, and of course OS X is running.
Here is what you see below:
On the iMac is ie on Vista on the MS home page, Safari on OS X on Apples home page. On Screen two (Samsung) Firefox on Vista on Mozilla’s home page, the Vista Welcome Center on Vista, and Adium running on OS X.
All of this and my CPU’s on the iMac were maxing out at 65%. How sweet is is.

That is very sweet, Victor. Keep the posts coming about your iMac, it’s interesting. How’s the Video quality? Tried watching a movie on that monser screen?

That’s awesome. I also have a 24″ iMac, but I didn’t think you could hook up an additional display to it. Can you hook up any of the Apple Cinema Displays? I wanted to purchase an additional 30″ display but was told it wouldn’t work…that I couldn’t hook up an additional display. If you know any different, do tell me. Thanks!

Hi Victor,
I am planning on get a MacBook Pro and I wanted to know a few things.
1) Running Parallels looks great, but how well does it run?
2) How much slower does older PPC software run {Word, Entourage, inDesign and Quark}?
3) When you boot to Windows XP/Vista, is it as good as running it on a regular PC or are there certain sacrifices you have to make?
I am a Mac guy from System 7, so I am used to working around things, but my boss maybe getting a Mac as well and he has been in the Windows world for a while now.
Thanks!
