I am currently working with Krishna from PC Weenies.org to do a re-design of my logos, icons and web site.

PC Weenies.org will be sponsoring the show during the next month as well.

Here is the first step a new iTunes Logo and Mascot for the Typical Mac User Podcast. As Krishna says , “Stay Tooned” as the new look of the Typical Mac User Podcast web site unfolds.

By the way start thinking of a name for the new Mascot and send your suggestions to me at typicalmacuser (at) gmail (dot) com

Ordered my Final Cut Studio 2 Software.

Well with NAB now over, I had to make a decision about the new Final Cut Studio 2 release by Apple Inc. After discussing it via telephone with my audio and video “Yoda” and friend Paul Figgiani from “The Point Podcast” and “Podcast Academy”.

Paul just wrote a great review of some of the new Final Cut 2 features that is a must read. So thanks to your continued support for the podcast and making a bit of cash from Talkshoe , I will have Final Cut 2 soon after it is released in mid-may. I can’t wait to take a look at all the gifts inside.

Airport Extreme Update

Filed under: Hardware Reviews — George Starcher @ 8:41 am

by: George Starcher, Associate Editor

I talked a while back in the show about the Airport Extreme. One of the issues was by default the IPv6 was not blocked. The v7.1 latest firmware fixed that. More importantly to me I found that it fixed another issue I was having. At random times I would lose authentication to the shared USB drive I have on the Extreme. Ever since I performed the firmware update that problem has gone away. Now if they will just come out with one for the AppleTV to fix the sporadic problem I have of it losing my place in podcasts.

If you are interested in seeing how I used a combination of Airport Extreme’s, AppleTV and even MS Media Center in my home you can check out my home network diagram over on the Friend’s in Tech blog.

Leopard in October? Aw Man.

Yes, it looks like it is true. Leopard won’t be out until October. The reason for the delay is that they are trying to get the iPhone out on time, and I assume that means moving developers around.
