  2. Hi Victor. Loved this podcast, especially since I tend to be quite a geek so I really enjoyed you going deep into the architecture of Mac OS X.

    However, when discussing OS X’s history you mentioned that NeXTSTEP became “OneStep”. I believe you meant to say “OpenStep” (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OpenStep).

    Also, Apple had the choice between an up-and-coming state-of-the-art operating OS called BeOS (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BeOS) and the robust-and-tested NeXTSTEP. But because of the backwards compatibility with older Mac OS (something BeOS didn’t have) and other obvious advantages (one being Steve himself), Apple decided to go with Jobs and NeXT. I remember seeing all of this play out during the mid-to-late 90s and it was quite an exciting time for us struggling Mac users and our then “beleaguered” company.
