You Tube on your Apple TV in a few weeks

Endgadget today covered the interview with Steve Jobs today at the D all thing digital conference where he made an early announcement that in a few weeks there will be an upgrade to Apple TV that will let all of us watch You Tube on it. Here is the quote.

12:52pm – We’ll see over time, but I’m not so sure it is… we’ll see. So what we’re going to do today is introduce something really cool. People want to buy a lot of video… wouldn’t it be great if you could see YouTube on your Apple TV… it’s available as a free software upgrade available in a few weeks. Normally I wouldn’t announce it early, but hey, it’s D.

Web Conferencing Service from Yugma

Since we just talked about remote access for your Mac (or Aunt Bessie). Yugma is yet another way for you to be able to access your own computer or a remote computer (PC or MAC) via the internet. The basic service is free but accessing and controlling a remote Mac requires a plan. This is much cheaper than GoTo My PC and seems like a resonable thing to at least try.

Yugma is a free web collaboration service that enables people to instantly connect over the internet to communicate and share content and ideas using any application or software. Whether you using a Windows, Mac or Linux computer, you can connect on-demand and real-time with co-workers, clients, friends and family — regardless of whether they are across the city, nation or even the globe.

Great quick guide to using Grand Central by TechCrunch

TechCruch has a great blog entry on a quick guide to using Grand Central. As you all know I use Grand Central as a way to have all of you send me feedback for the show. It’s a very good service that I would highly recommend given my personal experience. I am not associated with Grand Central in any way. Check it out, and come to your own decision.

My Name is Victor and I’m a Hard Driveaholic

Ok I have a problem. After installing Final Cut Pro 2 I went an purchased yet another 500Gig internal hard drive for my MacPro.

I added up the total hard drive space between internal and external drives and I’m out of control.

Internal : Total of 1.2 Terrabytes of storage (in 3 bays)

External : Total of 5 hard drives with 1 Terrabyte of storage

============================================

Total : Approximately 2.2 Terrabytes total

WiFind™ is a good Find

Kreg Steppe from the Valid Syntax Podcast and blog sent along this niffy find. WiFind™ from Tastyapps.com , shows you if wireless networks are locked or unlocked and their signal strength – right in the airport menu.

It’s a tiny lightweight plugin for OS X that makes connecting to reliable wireless networks quicker and easier. WiFind™ is shareware and at only $8.00 U.S. it is indeed a good find.

You can try it for free too. The developer does warn us that thsis is the initial release of WiFind™ so it’s not perfect. Thansk Kreg for the good find.

Got Apple TV Today. Two words “Love it”

Went to the Apple Store today and my wife took a liking to the Apple TV. Well ok she didn’t really take a liking to it she took a liking to the Coach store across the street but she did understand my desire to buy a new Apple TV. As she went off to look at the dead cow artifacts I got Carlos from the Victoria Gardens Store, to go get me an Apple TV and an HDMI cable.

Well, I just love it. As many in have in the blogasphere , I had my Apple TV working in 8 minutes (yes I timed it), and it is currently updating 16 of my 2016 piece of content. My wife and I already watched some of Screen Cast On Line on it today (they look even more awesome if of you have the premium subscription), and I leared about the Elgato turbo.264 Video endoder and OmniPlan.

So I’m going to enjoy this new way of watching video podcasts, movies and TV shows. Ok so I’m late to the game on this one, but there are only so many hours in my Apple buying day.
