4th of July contest report. We’re number two…help me get to number 1

Ok as of today we have dropped to number two in the Podcast Ready contest. Please help me win this thing! We are only behind by 30 votes. Let’s show everyone what the Mac community can do. Sorry to keep bugging about this, but I really want to win this one.

I can earn extra credit if you do this.

I can earn additional registrations “points” for the 100kPlay contest: make a video. It doesn’t matter how long it is, and production levels don’t count. The only thing that matters is that someone in the clip says the phrase “I Love Podcast Ready.” Here’s how it works:

  1. Shoot a video clip that includes someone saying “I love Podcast Ready”
  2. Upload your clip to YouTube and tag it with “100kplay” and “podcasting” and “Typicalmacuser”
  3. Email the URL of your clip along with your registered promo code to 100kplay@podcastready.com to claim your bonus points
  • The “I love Podcast Ready” line can be in any context - it can be a simple web cam shot or part of a conversation.
  • Anyone can record and submit this on your behalf. If you are worried about claiming the points for the video, tell your friends or listeners to use your promo code as one of the tags - the required tags are ‘100kplay’ and ‘podcasting’ but there can be other tags as well.
  • The same person cannot be delivering the line in more than one video.
  • The same reason (see the original post) cannot be used in more than one video.

Lastly, you’ll want to try and make these somewhat entertaining regardless of the contest. The way things are going, we might just decide to tie something else to these videos… like perhaps a second “grand prize” for the best video… or something crazy like that.

For the regular contest do this:

Podcast Ready is giving away one placement on every copy of myPodder to one lucky podcaster. This means that my podcast feed could potentially be pre-configured on MP3 devices from iRiver, Cowon, Skullcandy, and Wolverine (just to name a few) as well as in every copy of myPodder downloaded from our site, and others. If I win my show will remain in the line up until it has received 100,000 downloads from new myPodder users.

So here is what you do

1. Go to http://www.podcastready.com and register a new account (this will require a valid email address) use the promotional code tmup.
2. If you are already a Podcast Ready member update your account wiht the promotional code tmup.

3. That’s it, you have just made podcasting easier for yourself and you have helped me potentially get 100, 000 dowloads. (I hope).

iPhone a tool for Modern Art

Victor emailed this photo to me. It is pretty interesting. He made it with his iPhone. He was trying to take a photo of his niece and she blocked his shot. It may be the first iPhone generated art.
