I used my new version of Garage Band o8 and it’s Magic Garage Band feature to record this little Jazz song. It’s all Garage Band except the Sax. That’s me playing soprano. What a fun new way to practice, jam or learn. Enjoy it, and comment on the blog with what you thought.

Victor, that was great. I tried out the Magic Garage Band but only for a minute. I can’t wait to use it as a jam / practice tool… great idea!

Wow! Really cool number, Victor! How are you liking the other facets of iLife ’08?

Dang, my M-Audio keyboard bit the dust. This would have been the catalyst to get me back in to practicing music!

Thanks Krishna. I’ve yet to play with all of them. I think iPhoto is slick but Web Gallery needs work and is a bit buggy as my listener Dorothy Yamamoto pointed out. On the other hand, I saw her web gallery and it has some great pictures and videos. So more to come this Sunday as we all discuss all of the announcements on Talkshoe live together at 5PM PT. Make it if you can Krishna, I’d love to hear your thoughs.

So true Chuck. I had not taken my Soprano out of the case much since I bought it a few weeks ago. I just don’t practice much anymore and I think this will get me to commit to at least some Jam time. Turn on a little reverb, and applause sound FX and I’m so there.

Very nice Victor, you play sax very nicely… I haven’t had time to play with garage band yet. I’ve only been organizing events on my iPhoto library. I found some bugs with events, but nothing too serious. What surprised me was that when I opened Front Row, there was no way to see events. You can only see photos that are inside albums, (and yes, I installed the Front Row update), I think apple just forgot to add this feature heh..

I like it.

Very cool Victor. I can’t wait to get iLife 08. I like creating music and just jamming with it as well. I play guitar by ear. Don’t really play that well. Don’t know cords and such but I have a really good time playing along with my favorite bands. This would be so cool to just jam with. I may put something together some time and let you hear it.
Also, I am going to really miss being at the next live podcast. I have plans. Wish I could be there.
You guys have fun and I look forward to listening to it on Monday.
Take Care and keep Jamming on the sax. I like it when you send us those every now and then.
P.S. You should do a live ustream sometime of you jamming on your Mac with Garageband. That would be really cool Victor. Maybe do like Leo does when he’s podcasting.

Very smooth…. So when are you going to put out a whole album of song that I can download from iTunes?
I ordered iLife and iWork 08 — should be arriving today. Can’t wait to fiddle around with the new iPhoto features.
I love music although I don’t play an instrument nor can I sing a note. But give me some latin jazz, salsa, or merengue and the dance floor is all mine!!
Keep those tunes coming and the excellent podcasts.

Hey Victor I love the podcast and have been listening for several months and have learned a lot. I am a music teacher (middle school band) and can’t wait to show the new garage band to the kids. I was wondering if you have ever used smartmusic. If not you are in for a treat. Go to smartmusic.com and check it out it is the coolest music program for educators around. One of the many things it does is accompany you like garage band but it has an intelligent accompaniment feature that will actually follow you on tempo changes. It does much more check it our.
