Show Notes
Let me be honest guys with a show this long, there is no way I could get it out tonight if I had done shownotes. So Listen and I’ll see what I can do, but no promises for this almost two hour long show.

Crikey Victor they wouldn’t have been show notes more like a book…
Anyone listening to this podcast not live, I tell you, and if your from the UK, just one night stay up and join in it’s worth it. Great show Victor.

Victor, I’ve noticed the same problem with “places” that Allison mentioned on this podcast and I was going to write you about it and/or do research. I have three windows machines on my network in addition to my mac. The machines will all show in “places” (beige boxes with BSOD) and I can access them. Without explanation, the machines “disappear” and I can’t locate them. Just as suddenly, they will reappear. When I first installed Leopard I could not see ANY of the machines and thought I had a network problem. After about an hour or so, they just “showed up”. This is really quirky and I haven’t discovered any common trigger.

Sorry…my mistake…I meant to refer to “shared” not “places”

Victor/Allison: This may be a router issue. I’m seeing that posted on some sites and there was a firmware update for my router Dlink DIR655. So far the connected computers are showing “shared” and staying there.

I just read the Adobe FAQ about Leopard being compatiblel with CS2. I am very dissappointed. I bought Leopard but didn’t install it yet due to all of the problems I’ve heard. Mainly just compatibility problems. Thought I would wait. Now I read that CS2 is not compatible and there are no solutions or support. It’s just one version behind! Here is one of the questions:
Q. Will Adobe offer technical support for CS3 applications running on Leopard? What
about for older versions of Adobe’s creative software?
A. Yes, Adobe will support Creative Suite 3 software running under Leopard according to its
normal policies. Please visit http://www.adobe.com/support to check the Adobe knowledgebase for any issues related to Mac OS X Leopard (v10.5) support, and for detailed information about our complimentary and paid support programs. Older Adobe creative software was not designed to run on Mac OS X Leopard, so you may experience issues installing and using the software for which there are no solutions. Please note that Creative Suite 2 and CS2 applications are only supported under Adobe’s paid support programs.
I have not had CS2 very long and I rely on it for a lot of projects. I guess I wasted $130.

Thanks for the comments. One issue. Allison’s issue with not being able to see resources is covered here

Also be aware that the “Download” stack is a place holder for a real folder located at …
Manintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Downloads
So you probably need to make this your default download location for your browser and you need to point to this directory if a piece of software (like a router after you did an upgrade) is looking for where the new Firmware file is located. It’s located in your “download” folder. I hope that makes sense and thanks to Mark for pointing it out.
