Vmware Fusion - Windows and Microsoft Streets & Trips

My dad is visiting this weekend. I got him onto a Macbook Pro at the beginning of November. One thing he likes to use is Microsoft Streets and Trips. He was not having luck with MS S&T seeing the GPS USB bug while XP was running in VMware Fusion. Turns out when I setup his XP VM instance I forgot to add the USB controller in the VM settings for the XP machine. SO… if you are having issues with your XP VM seeing things like the built in iSight, USB devices etc. Make sure you add USB, Sound controllers within the VM settings while the VM is shutdown. It cannot be done while the vm is suspended. Also helps if you install the Bootcamp drivers in the XP VM machine.
