Leopard 10.5.2 – Back to My Mac

Just wanted to say, sweet! I updated both my iMac and my Powerbook. Now I can see my iMac every single time over my Sprint Mobile broadband card. When I get a chance I will check on a few hotspots. Since the update also fixed my iMac’s seeing other shares on my home lan I figure the fix must be related and all in all great for me all the way around.

*UPDATE* I tried it from my Aunt Lil’s house and it is working like a champ. I get shared drives and Screen Sharing every time. Now if iTunes library sharing just worked across it.

*FINAL UPDATE* I have found that Back to My Mac works consistently now for me no matter where I have tried it. That just rocks. One little thing I did figure out over the weekend about iTunes library sharing (streaming). I wrote a post on using Network Beacon plus tunneling the sharing over SSH over on my blog.

  1. Awesome George can't wait to try it. Before on my Sprint card it would crash after seeing it. I hope it is fixed. Thanks for checking it out.

  2. Just a general thanks to Victor for having such a wonderful show. I haven't even switched yet, but I am absolutely enthralled as I dream of the iMac which I should be getting after tax season. I especially appreciate you (Victor) taking the time to explain things that might elsewhere be considered newbie or novice. That, coupled with relevant guests that are usually the programmers themselves makes for an extrememly useful podcast. Thanks Victor – I can't wait to dive in on all the things I've been stdying off the show. BTW – if you know anyone that wants to give away a new iMac please let me know. :)

  3. I just had a chance to try it this weekend. It's working the way it's supposed to. For me the 10.5.1 update broke Back To My Mac, now things seem to be fixed under 10.5.2
