CORRECTION: In the show I say that the difference between the MacBook Air and the MacBook Pro baseline price was $39 dollars. This is an error, it was $149.00 US. Apologies.

I made my buying decision… MacBook Pro

After anticipating the new MacBook Pro and lusting after the MacBook Air. Today I pushed the “Order” button on a new MacBook Pro. The Air was calling my name like a technology siren. However after looking at the bottom line pricing, it was an easy decision.

The base line price difference for me between a MacBook Pro and a MacBook Air was $39.00 $149 U.S.(with my corporate discount). How could I not get the more powerful Penryn Chipset, new Gestures Mouse Pad , and a much more powerful computer for $39.00 $149 more? Well I couldn’t . Now I did update the 200 Gb 7200 RMP HD, and of course bought Apple Care. Here are the details.

Victor’s new MacBook Pro

Apple Store back up and we have new MacBook and MacBook Pros

Filed under: Podcasts — Administrator @ 6:02 am

Well the rumor mill was right in that we have both new MacBooks and MacBook Pros out on this Apple Tuesday. This one is mostly a speed bump and “Multi Touch” for the MacBook Pro which had not been upgraded in about 267 days. The MacPro also got a refresh of sorts with the all-new Quad-Core Intel Xeon “Harpertown” processors, featuring speeds up to 3.2GHz and 12MB of L2 cache per processor.

The Macbook now comes in 2.1 GHz as well as a new “faster” 2.4Ghz processor.

Prices Below are U.S.

The MacBook Pro also got a refresh and the anticipated Penryn processors, “Multi-Touch” Pad, and the latest NVIDIA graphics processors, now with up to 512MB of video memory.

“The MacBook Pro trackpad adopts many of the innovative Multi-Touch gestures from the Apple iPhone, so you can pinch, swipe, or rotate by simply moving your fingers.”
