Hi Bob:

I only recommend formatting a card in the camera. I hope that was clear from the show.

All the best!

I have one word of warning regarding Mr. Darlow's comments about your media. I agree with having a system to transfer your images and returning the card back to an "available" state. The card reader, the single card thumb-type is a space saver, work much better than messing with a cord and the flimsy port covers on the camera. I would caution formatting your card while connected to your computer. i used the format feature under disk utilities and nuked a card. It worked for data but it would not be recognized by my camera. It may be a flute but I've moved to letting the camera re-format my media once I transfer off the photos.

Thanks to both for your efforts. Love what you share with the community;-)

Just listened to your show about purchasing decisions and I have a few comments. I have been working with PC's for over 20 years and never wanted a Mac until they came out with OS X. I just bought a MacBook Pro. I chose the MacBook over all the Windows boxes out there because after you configure any of those boxes up to the equivalent of the Pro, the price difference is negligible. I needed a laptop to replace my old laptop and did not want any of the hoaky video setups in the cheaper Windows laptops, slow hard drives etc. The Pro is great as I also need access to a few Windows apps because of my real job. The Pro gave me the best of both worlds.
As to power, no one ever complains about having too much processing power, just too little.
