Aside from Victor's and Verpoorten's shows, I have gotten word of great new apps from The Unofficial Apple Weblog- TUAW.com (tend towards the more technical utilities, which I love geeking out on), and MacWorld.com. I have been a long-time pro member of VersionTracker for my updates via their client app which knows about all the apps I have on all my machines. I also opted to get an email from them when any of my apps are updated, and I use their search engine to look for apps that do specific things … Sandro

155 or so applications for me. thanks for turning the camera around. it was neat to see it. i will have to google it to find some more info about it. i usually update my apps as I use them. many apps will ask you if you would like to check for updates upon startup, and I click yes. that way i dont have to remember to do this once a month etc.

I had 260 apps. I just recently “cleaned up” and still have 60 apps left. I use about 30 of them nearly every week. 10 of them every day.

By the way, love the video quality. And that Mino looks really neat, so small. Nice one!

I tend to have two modes fro getting new apps, I either stumble across on the on RSS or podcasts, or I go hunting when I need a particular thing to do a particular task.

My application acquisitions are almost always done through the advice and counsel of the Mac podcasters and listeners on all of the podcasts that I listen to on a daily basis. I don't have as many as some of the posters here, but I use most of them regularly. If not I toss 'em!

Thanks for the great video posts Victor. I was just recently turned on to your podcast and must say that I enjoy your short videos as well. I have about 135 applications on my MBP now, but I do need to do some house cleaning so to speak. I find most of my apps via blogs, Mac magazines, and recommendations from friends. I have discovered a lot of great apps via the Mac Gems column in MacWorld that you can also find on their website.

You mentioned a few of the 20 apps that you use daily Victor. Could you please list other apps that you use daily? Thanks again for the great podcast.

Mac apps are like popcorn. It's hard to get enough, and the best ones seem to float to the top. I usually add new apps when I really need something. For example, I wanted an easy to use file renamer for a client, so I searched for OSX file rename application and ended up with Name Mangler. The MacCast, SurfBits, Macworld.com and Macworld magazine are other places where I find new apps.

And there is this great site and show called the Typical Mac User…I'm sure you'll find it if you look around a bit!
