  2. Hey Victor,
I have always enjoyed your podcasts however….
Do to no fault of your own I'm going to stop listening to your podcast as a protest, Let me explain.
Ambrosia Software Inc is a your main sponsor and they have been stringing everyone on much to long without providing information regarding Snapz Pro x. As good as this software is it is willfully out of date in regards to screen casting. Ambrosia needs to be forthcoming with information so us users can make an informed decision as to wether to move on or not. So I have made this decision to focus on boycotting anyone or thing that is being sponsored by Ambrosia hoping to bring Ambrosia inline to provide some real information. Assuming this post remain up I would encourage anyone else to follow my lead.
    With regrets,
    Robert

  3. Hello Robert. I am not sure I am clear how boycotting a free podcast not owned or operated by Ambrosia hurts them at all. Victor and everyone whom contributes puts a lot into this show regardless of Ambrosia's activities. But its a free podcast and you are free to listen or not as best suits your needs.

I would recommend contacting Ambrosia directly and explain you are not going to purchase their products. There are a number of competing products out there to Snapz. That would provide direct feedback with some motivation to them. Then if you wish to unsubscribe to this show, I would do so based on if the show meets your needs or not, on its own merit.

  4. Hey Robert, I appreciate your honesty , however why would you pushing me for your lack of happiness towards Ambrosia no releasing a product you want. I am the person providing you content and learning right? Ambrosia supports my show and I appreciate that.

If you have an issue with them, write to them directly and let them explain it. I have no intention of removing your post, but I don't think I as a content provider, should be punished. Do what you will, but I felt I needed to be host about my response too.

Ambrosia continues to be supportive of this show and I love their products. So there is my response.

  5. Hey there Victor, this was a great show. I have had a demo of ChaChing and iBiz on my machine since the first of the year. Accounting is not something I do very well. But when I do my taxes I always wish I kept better accounting records. I have downloaded Billings to give it a try. The key to all of this is actually sitting down and entering data.

Thanks Victor for always providing great content to the Mac Community. You always do a great job.

  6. Great to hear from you Jim, it's been a while . I totally agree the key is having the iDrive to do it.

  7. Great show Victor as always. I feel that there was one thing you missed when talking about desktop apps like Cha-Ching and iBank, what about the iPhone/iPod Touch? Let me explan, the hardest part of using finance software is just making sure that you input data to it. This where an iPhone app comes in, as it's something that you have with you all the time and that means you can enter your data right after you have spent that $5 at the corner store that might get forgoten about. When you get home you sync the iPhone and every dime you spent that day is now sync'd to your desktop app.

Now I know that midnightapps is working on a new version of Cha-Ching that will have an iPhone app to go with it, my question to everyone is is there any software pack out now that has this?

Keep up the great show Victor.

  8. Thanks Tizzy, I did mention at the end the importance of doing input, but we can never be reminded enough. I can't wait until a Cha-Ching iPhone app comes out. Thanks again.

  9. I agree with Tizzy… without input the software is useless.

I was wondering if it would be possible to create software that tied to your online banking account. This way, all debits, deposits, etc. would be automatically synced to the software.

Does anyone know if this is even possible? If you could take input out of the equation (or at least most of the input) I think it would be a gold mine.

  10. Richard I think the closest to what you are asking for would be a file that you download off your online banking page. On my banking page and my Visa page I have links that are labeled “download transactions”, look for something like this on your bank's page when you are logged in. When you find this you fill in the dates that you want to download and then get a file that will end in something like .qfx .ofx .qif .csv.

    Hope this helped.

Thanks for the tools review. I just want to tell you that I'm a user of MoneyWell, that for me works just fine.

    Best regards
