I see your point Desert, but this is not something you would walk around with but imagine being outside by the pool and being able to transmit your sound to your sound system inside. It's that kind of device. I don't' have one but I do have the W1 and use that all the time on my PS3 etc.

Very little other than it's made for the iPod , where as the W1's can be used with any input device (like a Wii or anything that has audio out). So it's the same concept and of course I would not make fun. We don't do that here :)

I agree it's big , however if you have this in a home and you have an awesome stereo system, no need to dock the iPod anywhere. Add this, set it down and wirelessly your music will play through what ever unit you have hooked up on the other end. This is very much like W1 except it is designed specifically for the iPod. Uses the same technology to send the music (or movie track) and on the W1 there is hardly any latency. We will see when I get one for review, but given their reputation, they don't tend to put out bad stuff. This is in response to all comments on here.

Seems like an awesome idea to me. No matter where you are, as long as there is a stereo, you can listen to your ipod and so can everyone else! Not like you would have it attached all the time.

Wow, the iPhone/iPod is big enough, why would I want to add another inch or so to the bottom of the device? Aside from that the connection seems a little precarious at best.
