  1. I installed the regular upgrade on my MBP. I got the blue screen hang for a bit. I decided to walk away for awhile. When I came back it was fine. Maybe when you shut it
    down it caused the problems?

  2. Yes I tend to agree with you that the shutdown hosed things up. I reinstalled the Combo update today and so far all is fine. It's all about the learning though, so no regrets

  3. That's so odd.
The Maccast reported problems with .6 as well.
For me, the problem was with .5 but .6 went great.

  4. I had big problems with 10.5.6.

I installed the delta updater, but fortunately i had done a TM and SuperDuper backup immediately before. When i tried to boot after the restart, it wouldnt boot. I tried holding down the Option Key, and macintosh HD didnt even show up as an option for booting. I booted from my SD backup, and ran disk util, and my recently acquired Drive Genius. I eventually found out that it had completely destroyed my filesystem. What i ended up having to do is reformat my drive, and use disk utility to restore my SD backup to my internal drive. I restored, and i was back up and running. I waited several weeks to update again, and didn't this weekend, and, thank goodness, it went off without a hitch. Thank God for SuperDuper!

Good thing i am paranoid about my backups. I have time machine running on its schedule, SuperDuper is run whenever i remember to do it (about every 2-3 weeks and right before an update comes out) Mozy Unlimited for my important files, documents, music, and irreplaceable pictures.

I can also officially say, that i tried to run the “always boot in verbose mode” on my jailbroken iphone in Mobile Terminal, and it did not change anything.

Love the Show victor, thanks, and congrats on your fourth year!
