First one to be said first: Thank you so very much for this Post Keynote Wrap-Up! It was very interesting to listen to your opinions and thoughts about the keynote.

I followed the keynote myself by reading the Engadget.com live-blog yesterday.

I want to share my thoughts:

1) iLife: iPhoto looked amazing and I have been using it for two years now. It was one of my first "wow" apps, when I switched to the Mac. The face recognition feature looks amazing. I have tons of photos of "my" orchestra (it is a "hobby" orchestra and I am their conductor) and I never did have the time to tag those hundreds and hundreds of photos. I am looking forward to this feature. And I loved the iMovie 09 presentation - I will buy iLife 09! And Garageband? Man, I do not understand some of you being underwhelmed there. :) I am very interested in those instrument learning sessions. I always wanted to try playing the Guitar. I think, it's about time to do that. And if those celebrity lessons will deliver what they promise, I am quite confident that there are many musicians out there, who will love to listen to the actual singer/composer of the song about the song - and to learn it sort-of first hand.

2) iWork: I am an accountant. So, I am a heavy Excel user in the office and I am quite a heavy Word user. I like iWork, but as far as I am concerned, it is still something to play with - not to work with. It is fine for home use and I am glad that there is competition for Microsoft. I am really an Apple fan, but iWork has still some way to travel as far as I am concerned. It's fine for home use and if you do not have to share much with Windows users.

3) Macbook Pro - I do not spend 2.499 bucks on a laptop. I am a consumer. So: no opinion, but I am not comfortable with the battery issue...

4) iTunes and DRM: Well we have no Amazon MP3 in Germany (yet). And I have to say: I don't care any longer about Amazon MP3. I think, this is a big deal for Apple in Europe. MP3 player equals iPod in the US. Well it's not exactly the same over here. There are many third-party MP3 players in many pockets (not in mine ;)). So becoming DRM-free will help Apple in European markets. The Apple experience combined with DRM-free tracks: I am on board. Boy, I am so on board. I just upgraded my iTunes purchases to iTunes plus - 115 titles. It it not only the DRM, but also the sound quality with those higher bitrates. I am thrilled.

Way to go!

I am not disappointed. I did not expect anything new, to be honest.

My only concern is Steve Jobs. Hopefully, he is really fine...

Have a fun time at the Expo! I am looking forward to everything in all your podcasts!
