Quality of my videos go down atleast 30 if not 40%.Here is my work flow.Connect my sony cam corder( Non-HD but hard drive based)to the mac. Import clips into imovie. Do minimal editing. Save that as a media browser file with maximum resoultion (large size). Open that in iDVD to add titles and save that as disk image with highest quality. Then use toast 10 to burn the disk again at highest quality. I am not sure what I am doing wtrong. I appreciate any help.

I had a similar problem with iMovie and I used MPEG Streamclip, dropped all files there (also dvds) and exported in the apple intermediate codec at 100% so I would not loose any quality since all the clips are already compressed. Big files but iMovie liked them. Esoteric formats are really a pain... Windows has an advantage there and you can probably find a freeware that converts either the codec or only the container.

I priced backing up 1.5 TB of photos to Amazon on S3 using Jungle Disk. Ouch. Even without the "basndwidth" charges, it would be cheaper to buy a NEW 1.5 TB hard disk each and every month.

FYI JungleDisk now has provision to backup to servers run by its "mother ship" without "bandwidth charges." Still, buy that new hard disk, each and very month for the same or less.

SO, thanks for bringing BackBlase to our attention. I sure hope the company and their model survives!
