    So I have a Drobo 2 FW800 that I use with my MacBook Pro 2.8ghz. What is going to be the speed difference in using the Drobo for photo & video edit vs. using the internal drive?

    with the Drobo 2 FW 800 it won't be as fast as internal but I have found it to be more than acceptable using LR. The render times will be a bit longer. Of course this is based on my experience only and I use mine with a MacPro
